Child Access Prevention

There are no child access prevention laws at the federal level. Federal law does prohibit federally licensed firearms dealers from transferring handguns to persons under 21 and long guns to persons under 18. Unlicensed sellers may not transfer handguns to persons under age 18. 18 U.S.C. § 922(b)(1), (x)(1) and (2).
