Volunteer

LCAV has been working to prevent gun violence for over a decade, growing from the inspiration of a small group of dedicated individuals to a respected organization within the national gun violence prevention movement. Today, LCAV is the country’s only organization devoted exclusively to providing legal assistance in support of gun violence prevention.

Our work is made possible by the generous support of foundations, law firms, other businesses and individuals. LCAV invites you to join with us as we marshal the skills and talents of lawyers, and the resources of the legal community, to transform America’s gun policies from the grassroots up. Together we will save lives. Here are just some of the ways to get involved:

Local LCAV Membership Committees

Start or join a local chapter of LCAV’s Membership Committee in your area. Chapter leaders help organize and host social, educational and public outreach events around the country, in order to educate friends and neighbors about gun laws and get more people involved in the gun violence prevention movement.

Pro Bono Service

Lawyers who are interested in pro bono service can get involved in projects conducted by LCAV or other non-profit groups or government officials across the country. Pro bono assignments may involve legal research and analysis, representing parties in litigation, drafting amicus curiae briefs, authoring op eds and letters to editors, and speaking at public meetings and hearings.

Other Support Activities

LCAV seeks a wide range of skills to support its program and operations. Administrative assistance, photography, graphic design, videography, archivists, caterers, florists and others are all welcome to join the movement.
